Dr. Vinita Lal Professor, Department of Sociology, and has working experience 21 years in teaching she graduated from University of Lucknow, Lucknow. She did her M.A and D.Phil. from the Department of Sociology, University of Lucknow, Lucknow. She qualified - UGC-NET in 2000. She has specialization in research methodology, rural study, gender and working on different branches of sociology and published 14 national and international papers in Journals of repute and contributed at least 5 invited chapters to books published from India. She has published 4 book, she has presented more than 34 papers in national as well as international seminar and as key note speaker presented paper nationally and internationally too.


Dr. Vishakha Kamal, Associate Professor Department of Sociology, She graduated from Isabella Thoburn College Lucknow University Lucknow, She did her MA from Chatrapati Sahuji Mahraj Kanpur University. M.Phill and Ph.D in Sociology from Dr. BR Ambedkar University Agra and qualified UGC-NET Exam in 2002 and done PGDHHA from Anthropology Department LU, she has been selected as Health Education Officer through UPPCS (Toppers amongst Women), she has specialization in change and development in the Society and Media, she has published 09 papers in International and national journals as well as 43 International and National seminars. She has published 01 book. She has contributed 03 chapters in reference book of Sociology, she has working experience 13 years in teaching.

Department of Sociology

Our Department offers a B.A. degree and Undergraduate Minor. It also offers a M.A. degree. The program promotes a strong curriculum emphasizing practical methods grounded in theoretical perspectives there are three main categories of technology support provided by specialized staff in the College of Arts and Letters, the Department of Information Technology, and Classroom Support Services. The three categories are (1) Instructional and Research Computing Support, (2) Faculty Support, and (3) General Purpose Classroom Support

The M.A. programmes are relatively discipline oriented, but the students are encouraged to offer. At the research level the interdisciplinary thrust of the School comes to the fore. Innovations in course contents as well as in the directions of research testify to the achievements of the School. Teaching at the M.A. level is, to a considerable extent, discipline oriented, aiming at ensuring proficiency of students in the basic knowledge and analytical methods employed in the various social science disciplines.The research level programmes, namely the students' theses, course component of the Ph.D. programmes, the faculty project profile and individual research, are much more inter-disciplinary. The admission process to all the programmes takes place through a merit base Examination. Keeping in view the All India character of this college, laid its objective of providing an easy access to students from all parts of Uttar Pradesh.
