Dr. Jyoti has been working as Head, Department of Zoology, NSCB Govt. P.G. College Aliganj, Lucknow and enlightening the students with her knowledge from more than seven years. She has completed her M.Sc. (Zoology) from D.A.V. College, CSJM University Kanpur in 2005. She has qualified GATE fellowship and completed her M.Tech in Biotechnology from IET, Lucknow. She has further qualified Junior Research Fellowship, from CSIR New Delhi two times. she has joined country’s one of the best research institutes CDRI, Lucknow for the recent drug research and have been awarded Ph.D. from JNU, New Delhi.
Dr. Jyoti is enthusiastic and sincere in Research. In a short span of time, she has established several in vitro and in vivo assay system such as osteoblast cell culture for evaluation of test agents and identification of their mode of action in vitro. Besides she is well versed with all modern cell culture practices and molecular methods to study gene and protein expression like Real Time–PCR, Western blotting, IHC etc. She has explored the role of novel micro-RNAs in bone formation.
She has published more than 19 research papers in reputed National and International journal with high impact factor and citations. She has participated more than twenty National and International Conferences and Seminars. She has also got an International Award for her work on micro-RNAs from ISCD and IOF, Orlando USA. Besides this she has been awarded with Incentive award for best publication, CDRI Technology Award and Technology Award for Life Sciences from CSIR-CDRI, Lucknow. She is also working as Principal Investigator on a minor research project funded by UP Higher Education Council.

Dr. Roshni Singh graduated from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. She did her M. Sc and Ph.D. from the Department of Zoology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. She qualified GATE, NET-LS and CSIR-JRF in 2013, 2014 and 2015 respectively. She worked on Drosophila genetics and published 07 national and international papers in Journals of repute. She published 02 chapters in book published abroad (Springer). She has presented her research findings in 04 seminars and symposiums. She joined Seth Harcharan Das Girls Inter College, Hathras, Uttar Pradesh in April 2017. She joined Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Government Girls P.G. College, Aliganj, Lucknow in December 2021. Dr. Singh is presently working as Assistant Professor of Department of Zoology. She was trained as an endocrinologist during her M.Sc but switched to evolutionary biology for her Ph.D. work. Now, she is an Evolutionary Biologist. Although she is just a beginner in this field, but she did lots of work during her Ph.D. She has seven papers from her Ph.D. work. Therefore, she has many ideas regarding the evolutionary studies. Broadly interested in understanding the mechanism of speciation of sibling species or closely related species and their constraints. She is also planning to do behavioural, ecological and GxE work. She will use fruit fly populations raised (and adapted) in the laboratory to conduct experimental research on these issues. Through these experiments she not only tests various theories but she also routinely observes how characters evolve in these populations.

Dr. Shraddha Dwivedi (Ph.D. Zoology) earned her doctorate and postgraduate degrees from Lucknow University in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. Her research topic was titled “Anti-oxidative and suppressive potential of certain flavonoid plant extracts against As (lll) induced genotoxic stress in the fish, ¸Channa punctatus (Bloch)”. She has a solid academic background and an impressive 8 years of research experience. She is a committed, inquisitive person who is always eager to learn new things. She is currently engaged as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Government Girls P.G. College, Aliganj, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. She was formerly hired as a Assi. Prof. at Isabella Thoburn P.G College and the College of Fisheries Science and Research Centre in Etawah, Cendra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur. She has published several research articles in high-impact journals (Springer and Elsevier) and delivered about 17 research papers in seminars and conferences. She also got the best poster prize at the Indian Science Congress in Mumbai, as well as the Zoological Society of India's Congress of Zoology Medal for exceptional research and academic achievement in the field of fish and fisheries. She has also edited one book and written three book chapters for national and international publishers.

Details of the Department

The Department of Zoology is under Faculty of Science, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Government girls PG College, Aliganj, Lucknow, affiliated with University of Lucknow.
