It is true that in the Indian contexts education is not an abstract term; it conveys the cultural, economic, social, philosophical, scientific and spiritual advancement. Aadiguru Shankaracharya believes that education is the realization of the self; Dayanand Saraswati opines that education is a means of character formation and righteous living; Shri Aurobindo suggests that education means helping the growing soul to draw out that is in itself. As a teacher and administrator of a higher education institution I feel that the function of education is to teach one to think intensively and critically; and the true goal of education is to bring intelligence and character simultaneously into personality of the learners. Following this vision Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Government PG College has been established in 1997 by the Department of Higher Education, Uttar Pradesh in Aliganj, Lucknow to augment higher education among girls from socially and economically deprived classes of rural and remote areas. Since its establishment the college has embarked on the journey of academic success and infrastructural progress owing to its transparent administration and student centric policies.

Being the principal of the college I assure that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Government Girls PG College aspires to empower its students with the knowledge and information required for critical decision making. The entire educational process is directed to clear the clouds of doubts in order to enable them to look at ever widening horizons of opportunity with confidence and hope. The college aims to provide maximum possible learning resource to all the students particularly the students belonging to the poor, backward and under privileged segments of the society. The optimum utilization of its every resource will contribute in their holistic development.
With its well-qualified teachers in Arts, Science and Commerce Faculties, honest implementation of government policies, NEP based teaching and evaluation methodology, well-furnished infrastructure, rich library, well-equipped laboratories, smart class rooms, multipurpose hall, canteen, separate PG Block, research oriented atmosphere, organization of literary and cultural activities, NCC, NSS and Rangers the college has become the centre of excellence and quality education in the city and state.
