Details of the Professor

Professor, Political Science

Dr. Sanjay Baranwal, a current faculty member in attached capacity at our institution, brings a wealth of experience with a dedicated service spanning over 24 years. His higher education, UG, PG, D Phil were pursued in University of Allahabad - Allahabad (now Prayagraj) in 1991, 1993, 2003 respectively. Noteworthy accomplishments during his academic journey include achieving the third position in his discipline during postgraduate studies and successfully cracking the National Eligibility Test (NET) and qualifying for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in June 1996. Inclination for academic discourse instilled an inner sense in him to opt for teaching profession in 1998. Area of specialization for Dr Sanjay is: Nuclear Arms Issue, Politics of Division in Bharat, Kashmir issue, and Women empowerment. Publication of articles in student life in Northern India Patrika, an English daily of Allahabad, persisted in professional life as well in form of publication of 15 research papers, 10 articles in edited books and presentation of 26 research papers in seminars and conferences. His Radio Talk and lecture in training program are his additional contribution to academic service. Furthermore, as a member of the Board of Study at MJP RU Bareilly, Dr. Sanjay Baranwal played a pivotal role in aligning the postgraduate syllabus with the transformative vision outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Area of Specialization- International Relations, Indian Government and Politics. I have taught under graduate classes in BHU from 2014-2017 during my research. After that I have taught in Lalta Singh Government Girls Pg College, Adalhat, Mirzapur for 1 year before joining Neta ji Subhash Chandra Bose Government Girls Pg College, Lucknow in July 2022. I have several papers published in National and international journals and also participated in several seminars. Presently I am delivering weekly lectures in IGNOU Swayam Prabha Channel 17 & 19 Live.

Department of Political Science

NSCB Girls P.G. College was established in June 97 with the financial contribution of Late Shri. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the then member of Parliament of Lucknow. The college was basically started to impart higher education to the daughters of people belonging to underprivileged section of the society. College was initially started with subjects of Arts stream like Literature and Social Sciences. Political Science being one of the prime subjects of Social Sciences deals extensively with the analysis of the Political system which affects the daily lives of people.

Aim of the subject is to train students several different critical skills that will help them succeed in almost any career, in most of the cases, to train them in analytical thinking, an essential skill for almost all attractive services, including IAS and PCS. Its helps them by enhancing their general knowledge, public speaking proficiency and an overall awareness of the political system and constitution, which govern the nation.

Department is up-to undergraduate level only. My predecessors in this college were was Dr. Kiran Verma and Dr. Harshendra. It is a single headed department. Department organizes several co-educational programs like project works and extempore speeches competitions, essay writing and poster making competitions. It has its own council in which students organize and participate in the functions. Other than 15th August, 25th January and 2nd October, we also celebrate U.N Day – 24th October, Constitution Day on 26th November, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Shahid Diwas on 24th November in collaboration with BSNV college KKC. Department is very rich and talented with respect to the high number of students obtaining excellent results with just one faculty.
