Assistant Professor, English

Dr. Shalini Srivastava has been working as Head, Department of English, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Govt. P.G. College Aliganj, Lucknow. She did her Post-Graduation in English Literature from the University of Lucknow, Lucknow in the year 1997 and qualified UGC NET in 1998. Her academic career spans over twenty-two years with eighteen years in Government Colleges, in which she has handled various administrative and literary assignments. However, teaching is her first and foremost passion. Indian English Literature, especially, women writers have always been her area of study and interest. Her research papers have been published in various national as well as international journals.

Dr. Rajeev Yadav, alumni of the University of Allahabad, popularly known as ‘The Oxford of the East’ joined Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Government Girls PG College, Aliganj, Lucknow on 01 July, 2022 as Assistant Professor-English. He started his teaching profession as Lecturer-English at Ramdhani Singh Nohara Devi Government Degree College, Captainganj, Basti on 25 October, 2008 after being selected from Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, Allahabad. He did his graduation and post-graduation (English Literature) from University of Allahabad and qualified UGC-NET (English) in December, 2005. He acquired his Doctorate Degree from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya completing his intensive research on Vijay Tendulkar, a Marathi playwright with the title “Power and Violence in the Plays of Vijay Tendulkar”. His specialization of teaching lies in Shakespearean Drama, Indian English Drama, English Grammar and Comprehension, Translation Studies, Legal Studies and Modern Criticism. He has more than 17 years of UG and PG teaching experience. His twenty eight research papers published in reputed national/international UGC Care Listed/peer-reviewed journals and five books are true reflection of his keen observation towards human behavior and psyche. He is also a law-graduate from the University of Allahabad.

Department of English

The Department of English was established in the year 1997. It offers under-graduate classes to young girls from Aliganj and adjoining areas to pursue BA with English as one of the subjects. Presently, the department has two posts, however, efforts for starting Post-graduate classes are in process so as to cater to the demands of many girls who wish to pursue MA in English. Under the aegis of Student’s Council, the department conducts various literary activities every year to assist in the all-round development of its students. The department also provides Departmental Library facility for its students. In addition to the conventional chalk and talk method, audio-visual aids as well as innovative methods are applied to enhance comprehension and generate interest.
