Professor Shivani Srivastava, from the Department of Home Science at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Government Girls P.G. College in Aliganj, Lucknow, is a distinguished academic with over 23 years of teaching and research experience. As the IQAC Director, Chief Proctor, and Director of the Research and Development Committee, she has organized numerous international and national seminars and workshops. Professor Srivastava has published more than 25 papers in UGC CARE listed and Scopus journals, authored six books, completed two research projects, and holds one patent. She has also guided four PhD scholars. A member of the Board of Studies at several universities, including Kisan Degree College (Autonomous), Lucknow University, KMC University, and VBS Poorvanchal University, she qualified for the Principalship examination of the Higher Education Commission in 2021.

Since its establishment in 1997, the Department of Home Science has evolved into a vibrant hub of academic excellence. Dr. Neeta Vashney laid the foundation by introducing the undergraduate program, and under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Deepti Khare, the department expanded its horizons. In 2011, Dr. Shivani Srivastava joined, adding new dimensions to the academic landscape. The initiation of the PG program in 2012 marked a significant milestone, and Dr. Rashmi Bishnoi, assuming the headship in 2012, continued the legacy of academic brilliance.

Currently, the department is actively involved in Ph.D. supervision with 6 dedicated students. The faculty adopts a student-centric approach, fostering an environment that stimulates critical thinking and active participation. Beyond traditional lectures, innovative teaching methods, including live projects and internships, are embraced. Collaborative projects and assignments promote teamwork, while participative learning approaches such as group discussions, debates, and field visits enhance creative thinking and analytical abilities.

In the realm of academic achievements, the Department of Home Science proudly hosted two national and one international conference, showcasing its commitment to knowledge dissemination. With a remarkable success rate of approximately 99% for the UG program and 98% for the PG program, the department has consistently excelled. The students, shining like stars, have clinched gold medals at the university level, a testament to their dedication and the department's commitment to nurturing holistic excellence. Students have also cleared competitive examinations such as lower subordinate, BEd, BTC, UGC-NET, etc and are serving as teachers, mukhya sevika, dietitian, yoga teachers etc.

Moreover, the faculty leverages cutting-edge ICT tools for dynamic and interactive presentations, enriching the instructional content delivery.
