Dr. SARIKA SIRCAR comes or hails from Barabanki district and has had her whole schooling and education at Lucknow finishing from Lucknow University from where she has done her post-graduation and Ph.D. She has accomplished her L.L.B. degree from Rohailkhand University. She has participated and presented papers in many National and International Seminars and her Articles have been published in books as Chapters.
Dr. Sapna Jaiswal is Assistant Professor in AIH department. She has done post graduation and doctoral degree from DDU Gorakhpur University with specialization in Numismatics, Art and architect and epigraphy. She has done workshop in Numismatic Studies from IIR Nasik and Conservation of Manuscripts in Parshwanath Vidyapeeth Varanasi. She is teaching for about 13 years in different colleges. She has published several papers in UGC Listed Journals and edited books. She had participated in several national and international seminars.
It was started in 1997 only when the college was started with about 40 to 50 students. It conducts both Under Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate classes which were started in 2011, has had several good teachers starting with Dr. Sarla Singh (Associate Prof.), Dr. Priyanka Sharma (Assistant Prof.), Dr. Rajesh Tiwari (Assistant Prof.), Dr.SapnaJayaswal (Assistant Prof.), Dr. Indrajit Singh (Assistant Prof.), Dr. Sarika Sircar (Associate Prof.) and currently H.O.D. of A.I.H. Department who all have enriched this department by their teaching and learning acumen.
In every academic session of the college, a History Parishad function is held in which competitions like speech delivery, poster-making , slogan writing, general knowledge are held which leads to all round polishing of the personality of the students in which all students of undergraduate and post-graduate classes eagerly participate and win laurels for themselves. In the academic area this Ancient History Department of this college has made a name for itself as one of its Post Graduate student Gulshan Jahan (whose photos can be seen in the gallery) has won 5 GOLD MEDALS namely,Thus she individually took all the gold medals in the offing in the department and thus made a name for herself in the department/college/university history which record it would not be easy for anyone in future to break or even emulate. Thus our college is proud to have such students. Apart from Parishad functions department performs other activities also. Study Tours are taken out like in September 2017 students of B.A. and M.A. went on a study tour of Bara Imambara, ChotaImambara, Rumi Darwaza, Clock Tower which is a part of Lucknow culture (photos can be seen in the gallery).
Also Fresher Party is held for the new entrants to P.G., (photos of 2017 function can be seen in the gallery). Thus students of Ancient History Department keep themselves creatively very busy and apart from studying and giving good result, take part in all activities of college and win prizes. Like they take part in plays and do wonderful acting like Anchal Tiwari and in 2019, B.A. first year welcome party, Vandana Singh became Miss Fresher and in B.A. third year Farewell Party, Ruchita Singh Bhadauria came firstand Prakriti Mishra came second. Last two also won first and second prizes in flower decoration competition in ’UNMESH’ of 2017.They all belong to history department and have confident personalities which would stand in good stead in their future life (all these photos can be seen in the gallery).
