Dr. Shweta Bhardwaj is an Assistant Professor in Department of Education, NSCB Govt. Girls PG College, Lucknow since August 2014. She holds MSc Wildlife (Gold Medalist) degree from Aligarh Muslim University and MEd (Gold Medalist) degree from NCERT Regional Institute of Education, Ajmer, Rajasthan. Her doctorate degree is from Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, Rajasthan. Her experience in this profession of teaching learning is of about twelve years and has taught in colleges affiliated to different universities. She has published several papers in different journals of national repute. She has association with SCERT, Lucknow as a Subject Expert, and has delivered lectures in different workshops. She has contributed in development of self learning material of BEd for Vardhaman Mahavir Open University, Kota. She has presented papers in several international and national seminars. Her field of specialisation is science education.
Department of Education started functioning in the year 1997 at under graduate level, with the inception of the College. Education as a subject is taught at general level in all the three years to the undergraduates. Education is a multidisciplinary subject with inputs from several subjects. The course of the department provides opportunity for students to get acquainted with the concept, nature, scope and importance of education along with its philosophical, sociological, psychological foundations and new trends in this field. The department focuses on the basic aim of the education that is to bring modification in human behaviour by emphasising on knowledge construction. Strength of the students opting education is continuously increasing. The percentage of students successfully passing in university is always above 90%. The department has its own well equipped educational psychology lab with all the requisite psychological tools and apparatuses as per university syllabus. Department of Education endeavours to achieve excellence by facilitating soft skill training, meditation sessions, computer knowledge, feedback etc.
Every session Departmental Council organises several competitions like poster, essay, extempore and quizzes on relevant and burning issues in all the three years. Education Day is also celebrated by the department with full involvement of students.
