The aim of education is the knowledge, not of facts, but of values. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Govt. Girls Degree College was established to fulfil this aim. It was established in the international women year to augment higher education among women. It was named after the great Indian leader Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose who was a champion of women’ rights. The foundation stone of the college was laid by Sri Atal Behari Bajpai on 14th April 1997. There are many private colleges in the city but this was the first Government College.
The college building was formally inaugurated on Oct.3, 1997 by Sri Atal Behari Vajpayee. The college building is constructed over the land area of 10886 sq.m. by Lucknow Development Authority.
The institution’s vision is to create overall development and continual growth in students and enhancement in their level of emotional sensibility for smooth transmission and mastery of cultural and employable skills among students.
Its mission is to encourage development and expansion of physical and intellectual capabilities, develop disciplinary and humanistic approach in various walks of life, promote cultural values such as art, literature, music and aesthetics, insure sustenance of self-confidence and cognitive intelligence and develop in using proficiency and communication technology in the context of modern era.
